What if I don't have health insurance? Are there affordable options for mental health counseling?
  • Sliding-Fee Scales: Many community mental health centers offer services on a sliding-fee scale, adjusting costs based on your income.

How do I find a mental health counselor who accepts my Florida insurance?

You can use the following methods to find a mental health counselor who accepts your Florida insurance:

  • Insurance Provider's Website: Check your insurance provider's website for a list of in-network mental health providers.
  • Mental Health Provider Directories: Websites like Psychology Today and GoodTherapy allow you to search for providers by insurance accepted.
  • Your Primary Care Physician: Your primary care physician can often refer you to mental health professionals who accept your insurance.
Can I use telehealth for mental health counseling with my Florida insurance?

Many insurance plans in Florida now cover telehealth services, including mental health counseling. However, specific coverage details may vary. It's essential to verify with your insurance provider if telehealth is covered under your plan.

Good Faith Estimate

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, healthcare providers and healthcare facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal healthcare program or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" of expected charges" You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much "your medical care will cost. Under the law, healthcare providers must give patients who don't have insurance and are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.


You can receive a Good-Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes expenses such as medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.


Please ensure your healthcare provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider and any other provider you choose for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

You can dispute the bill if you receive at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate.

Cancellation Policy

If you want to cancel an appointment, please let Bonnie know at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged an hour's cancellation fee of $50. If you do not show up for a scheduled appointment or cancel within 4 hours of the appointment time, you will be charged a late cancellation fee of $70.
